| What to do When You Decide to Sell Your Home |
Plan Ahead: • Go through all your belongings and start weeding out things you don’t use. Separate what to keep and get rid of. Plan a garage sale! • Get estimates from several moving companies • Request your records from the dentist, doctor, and eye glass prescriptions, and vaccinations. • Obtain your children’s school records to make for an easier transition into their new school. • Draw up your new floor plans and place your furniture where you want the movers to put it when they deliver it. • Mark each box or item with a tag so they know what room to put it in… This will avoid confusion on moving day!
Don't Forget:
• Your safety deposit box or the pictures at the photo shop, or your dry cleaning.
• Transfer or cancel your insurance policy.
• Collect all your valuables, jewelry, important papers (passports, birth certificates, deeds, payment coupons) to take with you personally in your car.
• Cancel your utilities and get refunds on your deposits. Arrange for new phone service at your new address.
• Purchase moving insurance for replacement costs of your things that are lost or broken in the move.
• Change you’re your addresses: credit cards, magazines, and post office
• Change the locks to your new Home. You have No idea who has keys to it |
